Adding a Teenage Driver Onto Your Auto Policy?

Parents beware…the moment you add a teen driver onto your policy, the premium will most likely spike between 50-200%.  Insurance companies see these teens as an increased risk of destruction.

Inexperience combined with lack of judgment is one reason to explain why young drivers are more likely to cause an accident.  Statistics have proven that car crashes are still the leading killer of people 15-20 years old.  Even more surprisingly, 93% of all teen accidents are caused by “driver error,” as opposed to driving under the influence or speeding.  Texting and driving…we won’t even go there.

So consider this, to not only lower your premium, but more importantly improve your teens driving skills.

Sign them up for In Control Driving Crash Prevention Training.   I’m sure you are thinking, well my child has already done Drivers Ed, why bother having them take another course?

Here’s why…This course gives students four and a half hours of direct training to practice skills they need to avoid the most common and serious accidents.  The first drill they practice is a highway speed panic stop. Do you think they learned this in Drivers Ed?  I think not…

This class is not just for teens.  Even those of you with driving experience should learn the skills necessary to avoid crashes and keep you safe on the roads.  Even better, companies such as Safety Insurance, Hanover Insurance, Plymouth Rock and Arbella are offering up to 10% discounts for graduates of the course.  Find out more about In Control Driving here!
