Umbrella Policies
The more you have, the more you have to protect. Just about anyone could be sued as a result of his or her actions, inactions, or accidents. An umbrella policy offers an additional layer of liability protection at a very reasonable cost.
An Umbrella Policy provides:
- Excess coverage over primary policies, i.e. home, auto, boat, motorcycle
- Bodily injury due to auto or home accidents
- Personal injury
- Slander and liable
- Defense costs, i.e.attorneys
- Coverage for you, your family members, and even a student at college
- Typical limits available of $1-$10M
- Additional limits always available
- Excellent additional coverage at a reasonable cost
Umbrella Policies provide excellent value
For example: a typical $1M policy can be purchased for around $200 per year.
Example situation:
You are sitting at a red light when another vehicle runs into you, and your passenger is severely injured. Your auto policy has a limit of $250,000 for bodily injury coverage, but he injured person is awarded $1,000,000 in damages; including medical, loss of wages, and pain & suffering.
Your auto policy will cover the first $250,000...but what about the remaining $750,000? An umbrella policy would fill this gap.
